 Sunflower is an important crop for nutritious oil and/or biodiesel production worldwide. We have completed an SNP identification and verification project in sunflower in a panel of current varieties and plant DNA pools. More than 7500 SNPs in 1000 genes were identified via comparative sequencing of 1500 sunflower genes. Using these SNPs, TraitGenetics is currently assembling an Illumina GoldenGate Array for high multiplex/ high throughput SNP genotyping. Number of SNPs
